Ultra Tava Tour

  • The event will kick off at 6pm on Wednesday night at a local Manitou establishment for a run down of the weekend’s plan as well as a review of required gear.

    Participants will receive one beer per person and light refreshments.

  • The camp will begin early at 7:00am kicking off with a big day from Manitou Springs up to the Mennonite Camp in Divide on the backside of the peak. The route will be ~21 miles with 8000 feet of climbing.

    Lunch will be on your own at the Pikes Peak Summit House (bring cash or card).

    After the long day on the trail, we’ll refuel with dinner at the Mennonite camp and the option to partake in athletic recovery services.

  • Breakfast will be provided at the camp followed by an excursion from the Mennonite camp totaling a ~9 miles with 1,500 feet of climbing.

    The group will return to the camp for lunch with an option for an afternoon yoga session or another small trail excursion.

    Dinner will be hosted at the camp and the following day’s route will be discussed.

  • After breakfast, the group will head out from the camp to traverse over to the next camping location in Cripple Creek. The route will be ~13 miles with 4,700 feet of climbing with a shuttle ride to the KOA Campground.

    Lunch will be served at the KOA Campground with the option for an afternoon add-on hike or run if your legs allow or relax with some athletic recovery services.

    Dinner will be catered at the campground and the next day’s route will be discussed.

  • The last day! Best day! And longest day… this day will take you from Cripple Creek to finish out with a ~28 mile journey with 3,700 feet of climbing.

    We will offer a bail out point at ~10.5 miles. If you choose to proceed past the bail out you will need to finish the route as it’s not accessible by vehicles.

    Once back in Manitou the Ultra Tava Tour is considered complete! We will have your gear ready to return to you with some light post-run refreshments.

Getting Here: If you are flying, the closest airports to Manitou Springs, CO are Colorado Springs Airport and Denver International Airport. The camp will begin in Manitou Springs, CO which is about a 25 mins drive from COS and 90 mins from DIA.

Is Transportation Included?
No, transportation is not included to/from the camp. However, the camp will provide one support vehicle to transport gear and in the event of an emergency can offer runner support as needed.

What nights of lodging are included?
The camp fee covers all lodging from Thursday-Sunday. Thursday and Friday night will be in shared space cabins at the Mennonite Camp in Divide and Saturday night in shared space cabins at the KOA Campground in Cripple Creek.

Note: Lodging is in mixed gender cabins. If numbers permit, we will split the cabins for gender, but if numbers do not allow all participants will sleep in a shared space. If you would like to arrange for alternate lodging please reach out before registering and we can discuss options.

Do I need to stay with the group?
The camp is priced to include lodging and meals. If you prefer not to stay with the group, please reach out before registering and we can discuss options.

What meals are included?

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes, we will do our best to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Please designate any dietary restrictions/preferences during registration.

Will there be aid stations?
No, there will not be aid stations. Runners are expected to bring and carry their own fuel (including gels, electrolytes, etc.). Camp sponsors may offer additional options for runners to carry (to be announced prior to camp). We will offer one bail out point on Sunday’s route which will also provide light aid station items (think old skool ultra table in the woods).

What do I need to bring?
A suggested and required gear list will be provided closer to the event. Please plan to bring a sleeping bag.

How fast of a runner do I need to be?
This is an inclusive camp experience designed for all paces of runner. That being said… this event is not for the faint of heart. The routes have a lot of vert, rugged trails and long days. You don’t need to be a fast runner, but you need to be prepared for a long, hard weekend. However, if you want to participate but end up needing a rest day on Friday or Saturday or need to utilize the bail out on Sunday, then we can accommodate. Pricing for the camp remains the same regardless of mileage as it’s priced at cost to cover lodging, meals and support.

What is the weather policy?
Pikes Peak weather can be unpredictable and can create unusual and rapid weather changes above tree line. We will make safety the utmost priority and camp day decisions will be made to protect runner safety. That being said, we will not cancel the camp due to weather but may modify the routes/itinerary in order to keep all parties safe.

What is the cancellation/refund policy?
To cancel your registration, you must notify us in writing to info@tavalodge.com no later than the date listed below for the shown refund amount.
50% refund - May 19, 2025

No refunds will be issued after May 19, 2025. However, registrations may be transferred to another individual. Tava Tours will not handle any reimbursement for the transfer but will work with the original registrant to transfer the registration information.

Do you have a pregnancy policy?
Yes, if you become pregnant after registration, you may receive a full refund. Partners of pregnant women as well as parents that are adopting or birthing via surrogacy will also have the option to receive a full refund.
